Calcaterra Pollack LLP’s James Aliaga to Lead Hispanic National Bar Association’s New York Region

Calcaterra Pollack LLP is pleased to announce James Aliaga has been appointed Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Region II. The HNBA Region II covers the state of New York, and Mr. Aliaga begins his two year term this month. Mr. Aliaga also serves on the HNBA’s National Board of Governors. 

Founded in 1972, the HNBA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories. The HNBA is also committed to advocacy on issues of importance to the 58 million people of Hispanic heritage living in the U.S. 

As an associate at Calcaterra Pollack LLP, James defends and prosecutes on behalf of a wide range of clients, including businesses, municipalities, and institutional investors in federal and state courts pertaining to commercial and class action disputes. James also represents survivors of childhood sexual abuse under New York’s Child Victims Act. In addition to his activity with HNBA, James is also a 2020-2022 Fellow in the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2015 and began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, where he served in the Law Enforcement Accountability Bureau.
