Hall v. Nassau County
The Firm achieved victory in the Hall, et al. v. Nassau County, et al. 19 CIV. 893 (EDNY) dismissal. The Firm defended the County of Nassau, New York in a federal civil rights class action case where plaintiffs alleged that the County’s tax assessment system discriminated against certain communities. The Plaintiffs sought $1.2 billion in damages. The case was filed in the Eastern District of New York where Regina Calcaterra argued the case and the Court granted Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss. Plaintiffs subsequently refiled the case in New York State Court (Hall, et al. v. Nassau County, et al. (Index No. 609994/2023)). The Firm again represented the County and obtained a dismissal of the State Court action.
