About Justin
Justin Alvarez-Herman is a Law Clerk at Calcaterra Law PC. Prior to joining the firm and throughout law school, Justin gained exposure to complex class actions and multi-district litigation through various internships with plaintiff-side litigation firms. Through these and other clerkships, Justin has acquired experience in leading research and assisting in writing on various appellate issues and briefs on appeal.
Justin earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2023, where he was awarded the Lisle Merit Scholarship and the Lark-Barranco Scholarship. Justin is currently pending admission to the New York State Bar.
Experience
Justin assists in the research and writing on various issues and briefs including those relating to:
- Families who lost their infants in the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper in lawsuits against Mattel, Inc. and Fisher-Price, Inc.
- Survivors of childhood sexual assault pursuing justice under New York’s Child Victims Act.
- A lawsuit against Syracuse University, alleging the University failed to appropriately respond to allegations of domestic violence in violation of Title IX and state law.
- A class action brought against a large metropolitan suburban county alleging discrimination in their tax assessment process.
