Calcaterra Law Bids Farewell to James Aliaga!
Pictured above are Regina Calcaterra and James “Jimmy” Aliaga after his appellate argument against Syracuse University in 2023.
This week we are giving a heartwarming send-off to Calcaterra Law’s Senior Associate James Aliaga. Jimmy led a number of high-profile litigations at our firm, including Child Victims Act cases against the Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch and a Title IX case against Syracuse University. His keen litigation skills were always matched by his empathy and caring for our clients.
While at our firm, he became a recognized leader in the Hispanic National Bar Association, serving as Regional President for two years, during which he was named Regional President of the Year, and then advancing to National Vice President of the HNBA, all while mentoring young Latinx attorneys and law students in an effort to supplement the bar and bench with more lawyers of color.
We have been able to watch him advance and shine as a litigator and are enormously proud to learn that he was hired to continue his legal career at the NYS Attorney General’s office in the Civil Rights Division. He is the right person at the right time for his new position.
We are wishing Jimmy much success and fulfillment!
